We are fortunate to have several hobbies and interests that overlap. This allows us to spend much of our leisure time together. 

Lindsey is an avid reader. She loves all types of books and usually has one or two on hand. She also loves to craft and has a lot of fun decorating for holidays and parties. When she has a vision in her mind of how something should look, she’s more likely to make it from scratch than to buy it. Before she met Josh, she didn’t play video games, but she has a few favorites now.

Josh loves to play games- video games, board games, and tabletop games. If he is not playing video games in his down time, you may catch him reading a fantasy novel, watching movies or building Lego sets. Josh has introduced a lot of new board games into our lives, and we have a whole closet full of our favorites!

We also have a lot of friends who love planning activities that involve their own children, so a new little one would fit right in! Many of them are currently in the process of starting or growing their own families right now, so it’s the perfect time for a new child to grow up alongside future friends their own age.

We adopted our dog, Artemis, in August 2024. She is a two-year-old basset hound- poodle mix. She was one of the missing pieces of our family. She is quite the character with such a fun personality. She is great with younger children and warms up quickly to adults. She loves to play fetch with her tennis balls and has lots of fun playing with the other dogs in our neighborhood. We enjoy taking her for long walks through the nearby park to make sure we all get in our exercise. She also loves to go for car rides, and we take her with us wherever we can.  At the end of the day, she snuggles up to one of us as her way of showing her love- which we adore! She has made our lives much more exciting, social and active. 

Lindsey About Josh: Josh is the most considerate person I have ever met. He is constantly putting his needs on the back burner to make sure everyone around him feels well taken care of and important. He wants everyone to feel included and comfortable when we are in a group setting. His actions show he takes the time to consider how every decision will impact his friends and family. I know I can count on him in any situation. He was there for me when I was struggling through hard classes, healing after surgery, and the loss of a close family member.

Josh About Lindsey: Lindsey is someone that Josh looks up to and respects more than anyone. She is incredibly caring and giving and has always put herself second to the needs of those she loves. She is remarkably driven as well, having achieved an Optometry degree while battling chronic pain from endometriosis. Even in the hardest times, she still thinks about other’s needs and brings a brightness to the lives of those closest to her that is infectious.

We live in a small neighborhood in Indiana with lots of friends and family nearby. Our home is located in an excellent school district, so there would be plenty of opportunities. The community we live in always has different events they host throughout the year; all of which are family friendly! There are several parks nearby that are walkable, and we are about a 10-minute drive from a large park with lots of trails and a lake with kayaking and fishing. We also have a highly rated children’s museum and a zoo within 20 minutes of us. We would love to get yearly passes to both!

Our home is a three level, 2-bedroom, 4-bathroom townhouse surrounded by caring neighbors with small children and pets of their own. We have a reading room to relax in as well as a conjoined kitchen and living room to host friends and family. Lindsey loves to bake, so you can find her in the kitchen on the weekends baking for her family, friends and coworkers. We have a flex space in the basement that can be transformed into a large playroom.

We have a large family that we are fortunate to have close by and be able to get together with regularly. Both sides of our families are very supportive of our adoption plan, and very excited to add another member to the family!

Lindsey’s mom and stepdad live on the southside of the city still in the home she grew up in. Lindsey’s family has three siblings all who have children of their own.  Two of her siblings live in different states, so we have good reasons to travel! She is very close with her aunt and cousin, who live much closer to our town.  Her grandmother, Ginger, is where she got her passion for baking, and one of her favorite memories is decorating cakes at holidays.  When we all get together, we love doing pitch-ins and playing cards.

On Josh’s side, his family comes together almost every weekend at his Mamaw’s house where they eat a home cooked meal and play games. His mother, Missy, is one of three sisters, so the house is filled with his mother, two aunts, six cousins and their partners, their two children, as well as his sister and nephew.

They love to play card games, bingo, and engage in fun outdoor activities in the big backyard when the weather permits. With the steady addition of more children, his grandfather is looking forward to hiding some easter eggs in the Spring and making them s’mores in the fall!

We want to begin by saying thank you for getting to know us and for considering us during your journey. We have the greatest respect and adoration for the love you are showing your child by considering this choice. We know that your decision will be incredibly difficult, but we would love to show you support along this journey.? We would be incredibly honored if you chose us to parent your child.

We have been together for 11 years and married for 5 years. In all this time, we truly believe this relationship is easy because we are best friends first. We pride ourselves on communication being the most important part of our relationship, and it is how we have been able to stay connected and secure in our relationship. We still have fun and laugh every day. We always encourage and support each other in all our goals and dreams. We believe every part of our past has provided us with valuable lessons, wonderful memories, and has led us to becoming parents through adoption.

Lindsey works close to our home and is fortunate to have the ability to come home for lunch every day. Her work as an optometrist is flexible on days and times she sees patients, and she is able to be home for dinner every night. Josh is back in school online and currently finishing up a cybersecurity degree from home. He plans on working remotely after finishing school. This will allow for ample family time. We already gather for dinner every night and cannot wait to add a child to our evening walks with our dog.

Adding our dog, Artemis, to the family was an unbelievably happy event and has brought us so much joy and excitement. That said, it isn’t the same as bringing home a child that we can watch grow and live a life that will bring them every opportunity to experience that same joy and excitement. We hope to have the chance to fill your child’s life with as much light, love, and happiness as we can.

We are fortunate to have an extensive support system of family and friends. Both sides of our family are excited to welcome a child to the family and immerse them in fun family traditions- such as hunting for a lucky ornament at Christmas or learning secret family recipes.? Our friends are thrilled for us to begin this journey. Many of them are growing their families as well, so they will have plenty of other children to play with.

We are happy to have an open adoption, if that is something you desire. We will be sure to keep you updated through letters and pictures as frequently as you would like. As our relationship with you and your child grows, we are open to more communication and future visits.

This decision you are preparing to make requires incredible bravery and selflessness, and we will show your child those same traits through a leading example.
