Jason & Jacque
We are so excited to grow our family through adoption and share our love with a child. We offer a lively home full of adventures, laughter, and learning. We would be honored to be considered as adoptive parents for your child and look forward to this journey together.
Our Leisure Time

Jason enjoys outdoor adventures, especially hiking, backpacking, and fishing. He grew up backpacking with the Boy Scouts and looks forward to taking our child on camping trips. Fishing was a tradition he shared with his dad every weekend—not because they were skilled, but because they had fun. He's excited to share his love of the outdoors with our child.

Jacque is passionate about animals, especially cats, dogs, and horses. She owns two horses, Quianna ("Q") and William, and rides 3–4 times a week. She competes in eventing, which includes show jumping, cross-country, and dressage. She would love to introduce our child to horses and teach them to ride if they're interested.
If our child prefers other hobbies, we'll share our love of music (Jacque played violin from a young age) and reading (Jacque loves fantasy; Jason enjoys nonfiction adventure stories). Jason would introduce them to educational video games, woodworking, and science experiments.
Together, we love to travel. Most recently, we visited the Galápagos Islands, where we swam with sea turtles, sharks, and penguins. We've ridden camels in Morocco, explored Icelandic waterfalls, listened to the symphony in Vienna, and camped in Yosemite's backcountry. Our parents included us in their travels, and we can't wait to share the world with our child.
Our Cultural Heritage

We are a multicultural family. Jason comes from a Puerto Rican background and was raised in the U.S. South and Latin America. Jacque's family, of mixed European ancestry, is from Southern California. In our home, we blend Hispanic traditions with mainstream American customs, and Jason's family continues to speak Spanish at home. Jacque's niece and nephew are also being raised bilingual so that they can easily communicate with grandparents overseas who are not fully fluent in English. They travel back for long visits with these grandparents every summer. We can't wait to share and build new traditions with our child.
Adoption in Our Lives
We will be open and honest about adoption with our child from the very beginning.
Both of us have close family members who are adopted. Jacque's closest aunt was a young birth mother who made the difficult decision to place her daughter for adoption. As an adult, Jacque's cousin reconnected with her birth family, and today, they share a close and loving bond. She has strong relationships with both her adoptive and birth families, showing how adoption can create deep and lasting connections.
Jason also has two cousins who were adopted as babies, and their adoption stories were openly discussed within the family. Growing up close to his cousins, Jason saw firsthand the love and joy adoption brings, shaping his understanding and appreciation of it.

Our House and Neighborhood

We live in a beautiful farm home just a few minutes outside Washington, D.C. It's the best of both city and country life - close enough to commute into the city for work, but peaceful enough to feel like country life. Our home is on top of a hill with a big backyard that stretches over three acres. We have 20 sheep and 5 chickens that roam around freely, giving the place a lively and peaceful vibe. There are big trees, gardens, and a creek that's perfect for exploring. Inside, we share our home with our friendly rescue pets, our 5-year-old Goldendoodle Lady (who likes to sleep a lot) and our 4-year-old cat Toby (who loves to play and get into mischief). Both pets absolutely adore children and love when our niece and nephew visit.

The house, while relatively new, has "old farmhouse" charm. It has three levels. All the bedrooms are upstairs, and our child will have their own room and bathroom. The living areas are on the first level, with plenty of space for a dedicated kids playroom. In the future, we plan to convert our finished basement into a teen hangout space, with board games, a pool table, and ping pong. We love relaxing and dining on our wrap-around front porch or our screened-in back porch, where we can enjoy beautiful views of the farm animals and stunning sunsets.
Our neighborhood is amazing and really safe. All the neighbors know each other and look out for each other. We live on a quiet road with hardly any traffic, and there are lots of families nearby with young kids - our neighbors across the street have 3 toddlers that would love additional playmates. We live near numerous parks—Washington, D.C. boasts some of the best in the country.
Our Extended Families

Every year, the entire extended family gathers for a week to spend Thanksgiving in Scottsdale, Arizona. Everyone flies or drives in from across the country and stays with Jacque's brother, his wife, and their two kids. It's a packed house, but an absolutely treasured family time. The trip is packed with family activities, including arts and crafts, train rides, mini golf, science experiments, game nights, and movie nights.

One of the highlights is an annual hike in the desert, where everyone participates and enjoys the scenery, although the little kids often finish the hike on the shoulders of an aunt or uncle. Another beloved tradition is building a model rocket as a family. The kids take the lead in assembling the rocket and launching it in the desert (with adult supervision, of course). It's an exciting annual event where we all collectively see how high the rocket can fly. Another highlight is a talent show organized by the kids themselves where they share what they've learned in school or hobbies.
For Thanksgiving dinner, everyone pitches in, with each family member contributing their signature dishes. The highlight is the "trash can turkey" that is baked over charcoal in the backyard. The last tradition involves matching pajamas - every year the entire family wears a matching set to snuggle in for movies or game nights. We cannot wait for our child to join in these wonderful family moments, and our niece and nephew cannot wait to meet their new cousin.
From Us to You

We can't begin to imagine what this journey has been like for you, but we want to start by saying how much we respect your strength and the love you have for your child. We know you're making an incredibly difficult decision, and we're honored that you're taking the time to learn about and consider our family.
We're Jacque and Jason, and we've been together for 12 years. We met at a friend's wedding, and after months of non-stop talking, we knew we'd found something special. Our life is full of laughter, learning, travel, animals, and adventure. We've always known we wanted to grow our family through adoption and cannot wait to become parents.
Our home is warm, welcoming, and a little lively thanks to our pets and extended family (who like to visit often). We have a gentle Goldendoodle named Lady, a silly gray cat named Toby, two horses (Quianna and William), and five backyard chickens (Blue, Bee, Goose, Buffy, and T-Rex). Whether it's playing outside with Lady and the chickens, drinking tea on the front porch, hiking nearby trails, or visiting museums or sites in the city - we can't wait to share our home with our child.
We both love exploring new places. Over the years, we've been lucky enough to swim with sea turtles in the Galápagos, ride camels in Morocco, hike across glaciers and waterfalls in Iceland, take road trips across the US, and visit castles in Europe. On both sides, our parents gave us a love of experiencing new cultures and places, and we can't wait to share this with our child.
Jason grew up backpacking and fishing with his dad, and he's excited to continue those traditions with our child. Jacque has always been passionate about animals, especially horses, and has been riding since she was a child. We both love music, although we have very different tastes (Jacque likes rock, Jason enjoys dance tracks). Jacque grew up playing the violin and would love to share music with our child if they're interested in learning. We also both love reading and movies. Jason is all about nonfiction adventure books, while Jacque loves fantasy and historical fiction. We both love learning new things and can't wait to support and encourage our child in whatever interests them.
Family means everything to us. We're very close to our families and they visit often - our child will grow up with a large extended family of cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Adoption is already part of both of our families. Jason has two adopted cousins, and Jacque's closest aunt placed a child for adoption years ago. That cousin, Kelly, grew up in a loving adoptive home and reconnected and formed a close relationship with Jacque's aunt (and the rest of our family). Because of this, adoption has always felt like a beautiful and natural way to grow our family.
If you choose us, we promise to be open about adoption from the very beginning. Your child will always know their story, and they will always know how deeply loved they are. We promise to send letters and pictures, and if you'd like more contact, emails, calls, or visits, we're open to that too.
We know you have a big decision ahead, and whatever you choose, we respect you and admire your love for your child. Thank you for taking the time to learn about us.
With love,
Jason & Jacque
